Early Spring Blooms: What’s Coming from Locally Grown Flowers
Spring is finally here, and my flower beds are starting to wake up after the quiet winter months! There’s something magical about seeing the first shoots and blooms of the season - each one a little promise of colour, fragrance, and life. Growing flowers locally means you get them at their freshest, with vibrant colors and strong stems that last longer in your home. Plus, by choosing locally grown flowers, you’re supporting sustainable practices that care for the soil, pollinators, and our community.
What’s Blooming Now
My early spring beds are starting to wake up with tiny wonders. Delicate ranunculus are unfurling their layers, bright anemones are adding pops of color, and sweet peas are beginning to climb. Indoor-grown tulips have been brightening homes for a few weeks, but they’re now coming to the end of their season. Each bloom I pick is at its peak, ensuring your bouquets are vibrant, fragrant, and long-lasting.
Soon the ranunculus will be flowering…and I can’t wait!
Why Locally Grown Flowers Matter
Locally grown flowers aren’t just beautiful - they’re better for the environment and for you. Because they travel a short distance from my field to your vase, the blooms are fresher and last longer. Growing locally also reduces the carbon footprint associated with imported flowers and allows me to farm sustainably, enriching the soil, protecting pollinators, and maintaining biodiversity. Every bouquet you bring home helps keep local flower farming thriving.
